Plutonia brevispira (Morelet, 1860)
External: Cream-brown body with gray spots anteriorly, becoming darker toward the back and posteriorly; 3-part sole usually cream but sometimes with brown spots on the side sections (Mordan & Martins, 2001).
Internal: Shell about 8 x 6 to 11 x 8 mm, almost fully covered by the mantle; long, pointy teeth; retractor muscle connecting to apex of penis, with the vas deferens just below; three longitudinal folds in penis, with one fold at the apex, and two folds in the middle and beside a patch of papillae; papillae are sharply pointed and above a thin-walled pouch; spermatheca rounded and equal to or shorter than its duct; spermatheca duct connects to vagina; atrium longer than vagina and shorter than penis and oviduct (Mordan & Martins, 2001).
Juveniles: White "opaline" body color (Mordan & Martins, 2001).
