Conservation status:
Certainly widespread in Cornwall, W Wales and NW Ireland, perhaps scattered but certainly underrecorded in other parts.
Morphology:
External: Slug light brownish white with dark brownish longitudinal bands in the median line and at the sides; some slugs are dark brown with white sides and black dashes; head bluish white; tentacles slightly darker to greyish blue; sole pale yellow.
Size:
Size: Up to 60-100 mm long.
Distribution:
British Isles, NW Spain.
Type Locality: Ireland: Cork County, Ashburton.
Habitat:
In a variety of moist sheltered habitats, both wild and disturbed, such as gardens, waste ground, sea cliffs, rocky moorland and deciduous woods.
