Behaviour:
Rolls up into a sphere for defense against predators (Kerney & Cameron 1979).
Distribution:
SW Ireland, NW Spain, Portugal (Kerney & Cameron 1979), France (Vennes) (Quick 1960).
Ecology:
Feeds on algae, moss, liverwort. Eats live plants and small snails in captivity (Quick 1960).
Habitat:
Lichen- and moss-covered rocks and trees; in grasslands, woods (Kerney & Cameron 1979), and bare, rocky mountain-sides (Quick 1960).
