Semperula Grimpe & Hoffman, 1924
Biology:
Seven species are in the genus Semperula (Gomes & Thomé 2004).
Morphology:
External: brown notum with small spots; female opening in middle of hyponotum (Van Benthem Jutting 1952)
Internal: salivary glands appear as a bunch of grapes; straight pedal gland; pedal nerves parallel each other before divering; receptaculum seminis with short duct; short penis with opening below tip of apex; penis base may have a collar; prominent penis gland, conical with 9-30 glandular tubules (Van Benthem Jutting 1952).
Distribution:
Oriental and Australian biogeographic regions (Gomes & Thomé 2004); India, "Ceylon," Burma, Thailand, Indo-China, S Philippines, Malaysia, Seychelles, Mauritius.
