Plutonia pelagica (Morelet, 1860)
External: Light, pinkish cream body with dark spots on the sides; black spots on mantle and a black line on the right side intersecting pneumostome; diagonal groove on mantle extending from pneumostome; mantle lobes mostly cover shell, but left lobe only covering anterior part; longitudinal groove on middle of tail; 3-part sole pink-purple with sparse spots, which are clearer on the central section, and dark spots on side sections become denser toward the middle (Mordan & Martins, 2001).
Internal: Light brown shell 7-9.5 x 5-7 x 2-4 mm; penis with vas deferens and retractor muscle attaching separately to sides of its apex; internal penis with wavy transverse folds, two longitudinal pilasters that converge at the atrium, and a glandular pad around vas deferens opening; spermatheca and its duct of equal length; swollen vaginal gland length of vagina+atrium; short vagina with smooth internal walls and an internal papilla surrounded by a glandular fold of tissue (Mordan & Martins 2001).
