Testacella (Testacella) scutulum Sowerby, 1821
Morphology:
External: Yellow body with brown flecks; small 6 x 3.5 mm shell, flat, with brown periostracum; dorsal grooves joined above shell; yellow sole and foot fringe (Quick 1960; Kerney & Cameron 1979).
Internal: No caecum or flagellum on penis; oviduct shorter than vagina (long); penial retractor begins at the diaphragm at the posterior end of the body (Quick 1960).
Spermatheca duct longer and thinner than that of T. haliotidea but not as long or thin as T. maugei (Quick 1960).
Eggs: 4 x 3 mm (Quick 1960).
Size:
80-120 mm long extended (Quick 1960).
Distribution:
Britain to S Scotland (Quick 1960).
