Buettneria Simroth, 1888
Biology:
Three species are in the genus Buettneria (Schileyko 2002).
Morphology:
Internal: Almost no flagellum on apex of epiphallus; relatively short, thick epiphallus (for family); fairly long caecum on epiphallus; short, tubular penis with a thick sheath around it and a very small verge inside; long oviduct with bulge in base, with folds inside; small, thick-walled vagina; large, muscular appendix with little space inside on atrium; long, coiled spermatheca with randomly-spaced denticles (Schileyko 2002).
Distribution:
E Africa (Ethiopia to S Africa); Angola, Zaire (Africa) (Schileyko 2002).
