Deroceras (Deroceras) tauricum (Simroth, 1901)
Morphology:
External: Slug grey-yellowish with brown or blackish spots of varying intensity, concentrated mainly in skin grooves; spots can be very abundant so that slugs may look dark; sole light with lateral zones little or much darker. Lighter slugs are usually larger.
Internal: Penis shape variable, with bulges; on penis apex are a hook-like appendix, an additional spherical distension (or bulge), and a single and unbranched penial gland with papillae; penis retractor muscle unforked; stimulator large and flat with a wide base; no rectal caecum.
Distribution:
Ukraine (Crimea).
Habitat:
In forests and forest-steppe regions, also in parks and gardens.
Life cycle:
Reproduction period is from February to April.
