Conservation status:
A local species, frequent in some areas (Cornwall, N Ireland, N England to S Scotland) and very rare and scattered elsewhere in the British Isles.
Size:
Size: Up to 35 mm long.
Distribution:
British Isles (northern Ireland, Cornwall, N England and S Scotland), Norway; Also reported from Hungary.
Type Locality: Ireland, East Donegal, Inishowen, Buncrana.
Habitat:
In moist sheltered habitats under ground litter and in the soil, both in wild and disturbed habitats. .
Life cycle:
Maturity is reached in autum, breeding mainly in the winter months. Mating lasts about 45 min, longer than in A. distinctus and shorter than in A. hortensis.
