Gigantomilax (Gigantomilax) lederi (O. Boettger, 1883)
Morphology:
External: Mantle 1/3 body length, rounded posteriorly; blue to bluish black body; light blue neck; black-blue spots on sides above foot fringe; pale keel extends along entire dorsum to mantle; 3-part sole with cream interior and light blue side sections; light blue mucus (Schütt 2010).
Internal: Relatively thick internal shell, 10 x 7 mm; spherical penis with internal sarcobelum; no intestinal caecum (Schütt 2010).
Juveniles: Begin as pinkish (to 10 mm long) and become gray (Schütt 2010).
Size:
Very big and stout-bodied slugs, to 150 mm long extended and 30 mm wide (Schütt 2010).
Distribution:
Georgia (especially the west) into Turkey (Schütt 2010).
Habitat:
Moist, “submontaneous” forests (Schütt 2010).
